After a dramatic battle in Zhuhai, The AFR Series will head to Shanghai International Circuit for Round 3 and 4 in May1-2.

This will be the first time that AFR to race in the Shanghai since 2011. The circuit, which includes some challenging corners and a 1 km long straight, will provide a prestigious chance for drivers to have a taste of F1 challenges.

There will be some new comer for this round of AFR. Ronald Wu from Hong Kong will drive for Champ and the 19-year-old will try to launch a challenge to the front. Joining him, Neric Wei from PS Racing is also one to watch. Tommy Chan will also join the race with FRD Team as the racing all-rounder will want an AFR trophy in his collections.

Race 1 winner Yuan Bo’s start was trouble free, yet there was 3 cars stalled on the grid, including Champ’s Ronald Wu. That dropped him out of top 6 at the start. Meanwhile, Julio Acosta made a spectacular move on Yuan Bo and took first place after the first sequence of corners.

Yuan Bo then retook the lead during the first lap and led home his victory. Acosta then needed to defense a fired-up Jason Kang. They fight through the hairpin and Acosta almost squeezed Kang to the grass. Kang then spun around at the final bend, but was able to rejoin in 6th position.

The race was then paused as PS Racing’s Neric Wei spun off at Turn 1 in Lap 4, which brought out the safety car. When the safety car was discarded in Lap 6, Jason Kang immediately overtook Ronald Wu, with a do-or-die move at Turn 1. They both then over took Kenneth Ma, who stunningly placed himself at 3rd position before the safety car deployed.

But Kang’s revenge on last race defeat was not a success as Ronald Wu in the last lap overtook him again. Ronald then followed teammate Yuan Bo and Julio Acosta, who won in International Class again, to complete an all-Champ top 3.

FRD’s racing veteran Kenneth Ma came home 5th, 1st in Master Class, while Tommy Chan won a nail-biting fight with Yang Xi and came home 6th, and 3rd in International Class.

ART’s driver had a relatively peaceful race as Thomas Luedi and Thomas Chow completed the Master Class Podium.

International winner Julio Acosta claimed that he could not see Jason Kang when he squeezed him out in the grass. All in all, Acosta thought his first race in Shanghai was a great one. “I pushed really hard to try to take the win yet my teammate is too fast. I feel the race is an entertaining one and I’m happy to be racing in this F1 track, which is very technical demanding and exciting.”

The next race will be on June 14-16 at the Pan-Delta Racing Festival held in Zhuhai.

2013亚洲AFR方程式系列赛移师上海奥迪国际赛车场

经过3月份的开幕战，亚洲AFR方程式系列赛将于5月1-2日 在上海奥迪国际赛车场举行第二站的比赛。

这一站的AFR, 是自2011年，第一次回归上赛，同时比赛将使用F1全赛道，全场5.45公里，富有挑战性的弯道和一条接近1公里的直路，这对各参赛者而言都是一次难得的经验。

值得一提的是，这一场比赛将有几位全新车手加入，分别是凯飞车队，今年只有19岁的年轻车手吴嘉伟，PS车队的蔚超音和FRD车队的陈鸿伟。三位车手都是第一次参加方程式的比赛，但他们之前在其他赛事都有着出色地成绩，相信竞争将会相当激烈。

在刚结束的亚洲AFR方程式系列赛第四回合比赛中，来自凯飞车队的袁波驾驶着8号赛车，再次以全场冠军的姿态站上国际组颁奖台。同时紧随其后冲过终点的同样是来自凯飞车队的91号车手朱里奥，77号车手吴嘉伟。凯飞车队成为AFR上海站的大满贯。

比赛准时在下午15点开始，袁波完美起步，一枝独秀的率领全场，朱里奥紧随其后。但是队友吴嘉伟起步失误，当时排在第四位的康哲玮和第六位的马汉华抓住机 会，成功反超。康哲玮随即对朱里奥开始进攻，两位车手不断的进行超车和反超车，其间两人还发生了碰撞，但两位都有着过硬的赛车技术，并没有冲出赛道。最后 朱里奥成功守住第二的位置，而康哲玮则被随后的马汉华和吴嘉伟反超。

比赛进行到第四圈，来自PS车队的蔚超音在T1打滑，不幸冲出赛道，安全车也随即驶出，两圈后比赛重新开始。当时排在第五位的康哲玮抓住机会，开始向前方 车辆进攻，首先和排在第四位的吴嘉伟同时反超了马汉华，接着两人开始对全场季军进行争夺。最后吴嘉伟成功夺得全场第三，而康哲玮则以0.7秒之差以第四名 冲过终点，夺得亚洲组第二名。

而在国际组方面，FRD车队的1号车手陈鸿伟曾一度从第八位上升到第四位，但是由于在第九圈最后的发夹弯位置发生打滑，虽然赛车出现360度打转，但是陈鸿伟利用自身漂移的经验，成功将赛车驶回赛道，最后以国际组第三名冲过终点。

在大师组方面，马汉华一马当先，成功卫冕第四回合的冠军，亚军为ART车队的陆浩文和其队友周广林。

在赛后新闻发布会上，两次夺得国际组冠军的朱里奥表示：“在比赛当中，我很努力的想要追赶上排在前面的袁波，但是他实在太快了，有点望尘莫及的感觉。而且 在中段的时候，我看不见后面追赶上来的康哲玮，所以我们两人发生了一点点碰撞，可喜的是我们都没有冲出赛道。F1赛道是一条需要技术的赛道，很高兴能在这 个国际赛道比赛，整场赛事很富有娱乐性。”

When GRAND-AM introduced the GX class to bring new technologies to the Rolex Sports Car Series, Luna-C Clothing was introducing technology-infused clothing. Davis, from Atlanta, Georgia, enters his first Rolex 24 at Daytona after seasons spent racing in the Cayman Interseries presented by Napleton Porsche as well as the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. Eversley, from Dacula, Georgia, was Davis’s co-driver in the Cayman Interseries and is a perennial championship contender in the CTSCC and has participated in several of the twice-around-the-clock contests. The two were able to log three days of trouble-free running in the no. 38 BGB / Luna-C Porsche Cayman GX.R at the Roar Before the 24, with Eversley recording the second-fastest time of the weekend in the GX class as he helped Davis get up to speed in the Rolex Sports Car Series.

“This marks my fifth Rolex 24 at Daytona and I’m extremely excited to get to team with my student and friend, Lee, for his first,” said Eversley. “I know as soon as we take the grid and the race starts, Lee will get that bug that everyone gets from the 24 hour and he’s going to already start thinking about next year!”

“I think Ryan might be right!” said Davis. “The Rolex 24 at Daytona is such a special event and I’ve dreamed about being a part of it for the past few years. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to participate, especially in a new class, with great drives and on an awesome team. It’s exciting. Ryan has done a great job in helping me get ready and the guys at BGB Motorsports have built a great racecar. I’m very used to racing a Porsche Cayman so stepping into this car felt very familiar. It’s been a great experience so far – not only from a driving standpoint, but from a sponsorship standpoint as well.”

Audi R8 LMS Cup 2013 starts on 03–05 May, Zhuhai International Circuit, China with an upgrade kit that includes more engine power and modified aerodynamics. The settings and race data from every car are transparent and visible for every driver. “In this way, the amateurs can learn from the professionals and customer racing benefits as a whole,” says Koneberg. The race car shares more than 50 per cent of its technical base with the production road car. Audi Sport customer racing China provides gentlemen drivers in Asia with everything that a race driver needs – from license training courses to race ready race cars and an organizational structure to suit.

Alongside the overall classification in the R8 LMS Cup, there are also categories for amateurs and teams. Starting this year within the scope of the close cooperation with Audi’s Chinese joint venture, is also a separate class for dealers competing with their own teams. China is the largest single market worldwide for the brand with the fourrings. Audi delivered more than 400,000 cars to Chinese customers for the first time in 2012.
Following the successful premiere season in China in 2012, Audi’s first one-make race series worldwide will now visit circuits in South Korea, Malaysia and Macau. The number of Audi R8 LMS GT3 race cars competing thus increases from 16 to more than 20. As a result, the automobile brand with the four rings gives motorsport in Asia another boost.

“For us, the Audi R8 LMS Cup is an excellent ambassador for Audi’s sporting genes and technological expertise in the important Asian growth region,” says Rene Koneberg,Head of the Audi R8 LMS Cup. The series is comprised of twelve races held during six race weekends in 2013. Competing for the first time at the series opener on May 4 and 5 in Zhuhai, South China, are teams from the Audi representatives from South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

“We have strong new drivers. I expect things to be even closer at the front of the field this season. Audi sets new benchmarks in customer racing in Asia with the Cup,” says Koneberg. Newcomers to the field include last year’s DTM driver Rahel Frey and the internationally experienced Chinese race driver Congfu Cheng. In addition to Marchy Lee, the seasoned campaigner from Hong Kong who was last year’s winner, and the strong, budding talent Adderly Fong (second overall in 2012), the ex-Formula 1 driver from Malaysia Alex Yoong also sets his sights on overall victory. The attractive mix of established professionals and ambitious gentlemen drivers is further enhanced by Hong Kong’s showman Aaron Kwok. The singer and actor is a very talented hobby racing driver.

Ford Formula Campus – Shanghai Challenge

With unstable Spring weather langering at the Zhuhai International Circuit, the drivers prepares for the Ford Formula Campus race in Shanghai International Circuit. The drivers were determined to get as much practice as they can, through rain and storm (… literally). At one time as the drivers get ready to head out for their practice session, a storm broke out and we switched to racing wets and still gained respectable lap times. This will be a great advantage for them as they are more adapted to the all weather conditions and have a better understanding of the tires, chassis and the limit of the formula car.

Ford Formula Campus Shanghai Challenge will be held on the 1st-2nd May 2013 with the Full F1 track layout at 5.45km. It is the largest motorsport facility in China, and was the first and so far only track in China to host a Formula 1 event. It has hosted six Formula 1 races, several of which have been memorable for the rain, and more often than not, some good racing.

With the concept of having a professional, competitive entry level racing, the FORD Formula Campus Championship was introduced to the Asian region. Started in 1997, it provided a modern and professional platform for aspiring young racers in Asia to challenge and test themselves. Focusing purely on developing the driver’s skill, all Campus cars were designed and built identically. Same parts, same engines, same wheels, giving no single driver a mechanical advantage with modifications. If you want to win, you do it based on your skills alone.

Formula Campus cars were upgraded with more advanced engineering, design and training technology. Body chassis’ were improved for aerodynamics and the MoTec Data Analysis system was introduced to allow trainers and the drivers themselves, to get a better understanding of training progression and driving skill. In cooperation with Changan Ford and their joint commitment with FRD to help promote motorsports in Asia, Ford engines and gearboxes were also installed into the cars for a remarked leap forward in performance and racing time.

Unlike the original Circuit Hero which featured Honda Fits and Suzuki Swifts, Circuit Hero One now receives entries from more high-end sports cars. With years of development, a lot of racing teams have come into being and it has been getting increasingly difficult to accommodate all the entries. Some drivers also prefer to race against stronger opposition, therefore the race organizers have created Circuit Hero One for the more powerful and more highly tuned entries.

Actually all one has to do is look at the cars that have been entered, such as Mercedes C63, BMW M3 and Ferrari F360. Cars that can break into 1:50s, an indicator of good speed at ZIC, are certainly not few. With 24 cars removed to form Circuit Hero One, Circuit Hero Two still enjoys a very healthy 42 entries.

From Saturday morning’s qualifying results, Mario Ferraris’ Mercedes C63 is on pole position. William O’Brien, in his Caterham, lines up second.

As the track has just cleaned up the oil from the previous race, there is a lot of sawdust around the track and they get blown into the air as race cars drive past.

The race begins after the warm-up lap. Mario Ferraris makes a bad getaway and is swallowed by the field. But he has a powerful motor under his right foot. Just a matter of 2 corners later, he uses it to its full potential and claims his rightful place, at the very front. William O’Brien, who sprinted to the lead, is now second. No. 10 Li Qing-Xin is third. By the end of lap 1, the Mercedes C63 has opened up a huge gap of 7 seconds.

In the second group, the Ferrari F360 of Byron Tong and the BMW M3 of Zhu Xiao-Dong are running nose to tail. Both have kept their fight very clean. Meanwhile the pink coloured Merc C63 continues to motor away, on lap 4 his lead is as long as the main straight is, over O’Brien’s Caterham.

The BMW M3 finally finds a way past the Ferrari at turn 1. Zhu Xiao-Dong cuts into the inside line but Byron Tong manages to defend his line. But at turn 4, Zhu Xiao-Dong tries again and Byron defends over anxiously and allows the M3 to pass around the outside. A lap later, maybe eager to fight back, Byron makes a mistake and spins off into the sand trap, thus retiring from the race.

Liu Jiang then tries to catch Li Qing-Xin in front of him. Li’s Ariel Atom is a lightweight sportscar, its philosophy is vastly different from the M3. Li Qing-Xin is a skilled driver, although under pressure, he defends very well and stays on his racing line. At this time Mario Ferraris’ lead is over 41 seconds. His fastest lap of 1:44s is way quicker than everyone else, who can only manage about 1:50s.

On the last lap, Mario Ferraris’s Mercedes C63 wins by a massive 55 seconds. His fastest lap is an astonishing 1:44.179s. William O’Brien is second in his Caterham. Li Qing-Xin finishes third while Zhu Xiao-Dong is fourth.

今天VITA出門前就看到這個很漂亮的小盒子。上面的紙條寫著「給VITA」，可是生日才剛過啊？難道是遲來的生日禮物嗎？

不過這個很有設計感的包裝引起VITA的好奇心。不管了，先拿回房間打開來看看是什麼東西？

這個外表設計感覺還滿輕巧的，是我的生日蛋糕嗎?

等一下！這個LOGO滿眼熟的，看這外包裝難道是我期待已久的…

DRIFT HD GHOST?

事不宜遲，就趕快把它打開來看看吧。

打開盒子，是一支感覺很輕巧的機器。好精巧可愛喔。

沒錯耶，就是我一直很想要的DRIFT HD GHOST，就是這個！

它除了可以廣角捕捉到更多的畫面，也可以高速攝影拍下VITA在賽道上馳騁的速度感。

看來就算下次帶著它去跑沙漠，或者是到海邊游泳都沒問題！

沒想到裡面的包裝也這麼得仔細，感覺像是放在珠寶盒裡面一樣。

你看，不說還以為是什麼精品展示盒。

先來看一下它裡面除了質感很好的包裝盒之外，所附的配件也很有誠意喔！

真不虧是國際大廠呢！

裡 面除了Drift HD Ghost攝影機之外，還有1700 mAH的鋰電池、mini USB線、3.5 mm延長線、雙向遙控器、尾蓋、說明書和各式匹配接頭。感覺真的有誠意又好豐富喔，而且容納這些周邊配件的小白盒子，也是一個便攜盒。這些哩哩摳摳的大小 零件，通通放在盒子裡面。而且盒子內還貼心的附有micro SD放置槽，通通和micro SD卡放在一起很容易收納取用。

除了能錄製Full HD的影片之外，在設定720p的解析度之下，可以達到每秒60個frame，在848×480的解析度更可以錄到120個frame的高速錄影。 VITA恨不得現在趕快裝上它，帶著去咻咻跑兩圈喔！(有沒有這麼快?)

它在靜態攝影之下，可以達到1千1百萬畫素的照片。

更令人驚奇又開心的是，它居然在APP STORE上面有專用的APP耶!

這下除了可以在VITA的iPhone上面觀看拍出來的影片、相片，而且還可以馬上做影片編輯喔。遠端設定、查看電池電量和記憶卡容量使用APP來操控真的是非常的輕鬆方便。

不過使用Andriod手機的朋友也不必擔心，之前VITA在它官網上有看到，未來也可以在Google Play搜尋到「Drift App」囉。

更不用說單單只憑攝影機本體，就可以耐得住在水深三公尺的水壓而不需要加裝任何的防水設備。

除此之外，附送的這些多樣又好用的Mount，可以讓VITA安裝在VITA喜歡的任何角度、任何地方喔！

因為DRIFT HD GHOST是使用h.264的codec，是目前壓縮比最優良，而且最被廣泛使用的codec，其所產出的.MOV檔案，不論MAC或PC內的各大剪輯軟體都可適用。

還有HDMI(Type C)的接口，可以把VITA在比賽中所拍到的畫面，播放在數位電視上唷。

除了APP之外腕戴式的遙控器，相信也讓許多極限運動迷驚艷不已。

遙控器和攝影機上面的冷光燈，也讓VITA感覺非常時尚又帥氣說。

Drift Innovation will be providing the onboard cameras for the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and the Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge GB that will be used for the TV broadcasts as well as for Porsche’s own Origin.com.

We are pleased to announce that Circuit Tools Version 2 has now been released. This is a major rewrite and contains some great new features as well as a much faster interface. This is what you will find in CT V2:

Enhanced file loading
It is now faster to load your files, and there is a much improved interface that scans the file giving you basic lap information and a preview of the video.

The file can also be easily renamed ? a very useful tool when comparing files between drivers.

New File Transfer Wizard
This now scans your PC for removable media and then transfers all the files into automatically named folders on the hard drive.

Automatic sector configuration
When you load a file, sectors by max speed are now automatically configured. You then have the ability to instantly toggle them on and off in the session data.

Video replay speed variation
You can now play a video at a variety of fast and slow motion speeds ? especially useful for comparing files in detail without the need to advance sample by sample. The playback functionality has also been improved. For example, by pressing the stop button twice you can now replay the file from the last stop position, or by pressing it three times jump to the beginning of the section displayed in the graph.

Six video playback
Up to six videos can now be played simultaneously giving you the ability to compare a range of track data. The video engine has also been rewritten to reduce the program’s impact on your computer?s processor.

Drift Innovation’s Track Day at European Rallycross Championship 2013

Recently, Drift Innovation were announced as the Official Point of View partners of the FIA European Rallycross Championship 2013 sponsored by Monster Energy. As supporters of the RX Championship, the Drift team were invited to Lydden Hill for an exclusive first look at the cars, track and drivers.

Six cars in total were present, some like Anton Markland’s, sporting their new livery designs for 2013. The media session in the morning allowed Martin Anayi to announce the confirmed list of permanent drivers for the 2013 RX season, including former World Rally Champion, Petter Solberg. And, for the first time ever, drivers in the FIA European Rallycross Championship were also given the opportunity on the Thursday to train and prepare their off-track performance ahead of the coming season

The Drift team were also driven around the track by Citroen drivers, Alexander Hvaal and Timmy Hansen to experience the track first hand. Check out the clip of all the onboard footage shot on the Drift HD Ghost from the day.
